01 / VERIFY BEFORE TRUST

A fingerprint becomes useful when it is remembered.

TRUST first performs the complete PROOF verification: ECDSA signature, evidence SHA-256, nested AUDIT/CASE and any signing-key rotation chain. Only a valid signing identity can be added to this registry.

02 / KNOWN SIGNING IDENTITIES

Local names for exact keys.

Labels are convenience metadata stored only in this browser. They are not embedded in PROOF and do not turn a self-signed key into a legal identity certificate.

No known external signing keys yet.

Verify a PROOF and explicitly trust its fingerprint. TRUST never learns identities from the network or auto-trusts a new key.

The current fingerprint is already trusted locally, or it is this browser's own PROOF signing identity.

ROTATEDOld key authorized the new key.

Rotation is only offered when a cryptographic chain signed by the previous key reaches the current PROOF key. A new key cannot self-claim continuity.

NEW / UNTRUSTED / INVALIDDo not collapse different risks.

A valid unknown key is NEW. A locally blocked key is UNTRUSTED. A package that fails cryptographic or evidence verification is INVALID.
